The Oceanogràfic of Valencia, inaugurated in 2003, is the largest aquarium in Europe and a major component of the City of Arts and Sciences. Designed by Félix Candela, the aquarium houses more than 500 marine species in themed habitats that recreate the main aquatic ecosystems of the planet.
